Busy, Bustling, Buddha-filled Bangkok!

Happy Friday, is it Friday?! We left home Wednesday morning at 5, headed to Philly to catch our flight to Doha, Qatar, spent a mere 30 mins in the Doha airport before boarding our flight to Bangkok and finally arrived here Thursday around 7 pm. Whew! Our travel day went smoothly, no complaints, other than it was long, but that part was to be expected!

Last night we relaxed, enjoyed our hotels amenities (Renaissance Bangkok, it's pretty sweet!), had some drinks and listened to U2 perform, I mean, listened to an aaaamazing local cover U2!

It was up and out early today. We went to visit several temples and the Grand Palace, although beautiful it was HOT, HOT, HOT! We thought we had experienced hot and sweaty during our summer in Europe,,, nope. This was by far the hottest, grossest, and sweatiest we have EVER felt! Regardless of the heat, we did have a full on exploration of Bangkok day! We wrapped up the day with an authentic Thai dinner (duh) and are planning to wake up early tomorrow to hit the weekend market! Wish us luck!! I hear it gets super busy and after what we saw on the subway and in the streets today I can't imagine what they consider "busy!"
